World is nothing without the internet. People love surf and hates while buffering. So, fast internet is everyone’s dream in the real world. people love to have a faster internet and the laptop with faster processing speed so that, they can make the most of this fast emerging world. If the speed of internet is faster then one can either download the stuff or can surf the internet up to maximum or else the person who uses slower internet connection will surely gets disappointed or gets bored of using internet. So, NASA took this issue a serious and was experimenting about fast internet on the moon.
About LADEE
As said in a report by NASA in Wired.com that, they are beaming for information from and to a probe named LADEE that is flying around the moon and 380,0000 kilometers away from the moon, which has set a new record in the stream of communication in space. LADEE is the Lunar Laser Communication Demonstration (LLCD) where the speed of the internet is tested and a download speed of 622 Megabits per second and an upload speed of 20 Megabits per second was recorded. When compared to the WIRED’s office in San Francisco, which gets a download speed of 75 Megabits per second and an upload speed of 50 Megabits per second was recorded. But, this has disappointed the scientist of NASA that Lunar Laser Communication Demonstration (LLCD) have provided five times lower than that of expected by the NASA scientists.
Till now NASA has used radio waves to communicate with the spacecraft which is somewhere in the solar system. As this probe moves far and far, it need more power to transmit a signal and the Earth’s base receiving dishes also should be bigger so that the NASA’s farther probe which is Voyager 1 relies on a seventy meter antenna to hear. For communication Lunar Laser Communication Demonstration (LLCD) depends upon three ground based terminals at telescopes in California, Spain and New Mexico. But, the agency is currently interested in improving the functioning of laser based communication. A Space with concentrated beam of light can transmit and can send data at higher rates such as images and 3D videos from any part of the space. And, if the laser concentrated beam does not hits the specified target at the far distance then their will be no communication between the channels. Lunar Laser Communication Demonstration (LLCD) will have lower transmission rate when the moon is at the horizon and the signals need to be transmitted through the higher quantities of interfering atmosphere.
Lunar Laser Communication Demonstration (LLCD) is actually a model to the larger and even the more capable project, the Laser Communications Relay Demonstration (LCRD), which will test the technology very deeply and this technology is expected to launch by the end of 2017. So, this technology is going to rewrite the history and can be able to communicate with the high speed internet throughout the solar system.
