The Bingo Boom – 3 Ways to Get Winning

In recent years, bingo has boomed in popularity, with thousands of new online bingo websites being created each and every day. Thanks to Bongo’s Bingo, Rebel Bingo and the like, even in-person games are becoming much more in demand. If you are looking to win big at the game, then any real bingo enthusiast would likely advise you that luck just isn’t enough. On the surface bingo is a very simple game, and indeed there are many simple ways in which you can improve your chances of winning, but there are also a few ways which are a little bit trickier to get your head around:

If you want to win at bingo, then number strategies can help you. There are a few different number theories and systems out there, some much more famous than others. Perhaps the two most famous systems that relate to bingo are the Tippett Theory and the Granville theory.

L.H.C Tippett was a British statistician, who during his lifetime received many awards, including Fellow of the American Statistical Association. His number system is based on the “perfect average” and suggests that as more numbers are drawn within a game of bingo, the more these numbers will gravitate towards the middle. 45, for example, would be the median number in a game where the numbers go from 1-99.

An easy way to get your head around Tippett’s theory is to imagine two separate piles of bingo balls. In this first pile are all the winning bingo balls. In the second pile are all of those balls that have not yet been drawn and still remain within the cage.

The middle value of these winning balls could realistically be anything at all, but it is most likely that the value is either much greater or much lower than the median of 1-99: 45. The range of the numbers in the winning ball pile will likely be much narrower than 99, except for if either 1 or 99 had been drawn, which in itself is improbable.

An increasing number of balls are drawn as the game progresses, and as such, this winning pile (pile 1) will become increasingly similar to the pile which is still within the cage (pile 2). These two piles will gradually balance out, and so the same pile that was initially in the cage is recovered. These two theoretical piles are becoming increasingly alike as the game runs on, which in turn means that the median will also become closer to that “perfect average” once again.

As such, those who support Tippett’s theory opt to pick bingo tickets with more median numbers to improve their chances of winning. However, it is important to note that this theory hasn’t been extensively proven.

The Granville theory varies quite substantially from the Tippett theory. His number system instead recommends that players should try to select bingo tickets where the numbers are most uniform and systematic; the bingo card should have the same amount of numbers which end in 1, 2, 3, 4, etc, whilst also including a balance of odd and even numbers, and a balance of both high and low numbers.

Whilst also never fully proven, Granville’s theory claims that it makes sense to choose numbers in this way; in the long run, a balanced amount of both high and low numbers will be called, as well as a relatively equal amount of odd and even numbers.

Having a good understanding of different number systems and theories can help you to win big at bingo. If you are convinced by either of these systems, then give them a go.

If you want to socialize and expand your bingo knowledge further, then online bingo chat rooms are a great place to be. Many keen bingo players will share their tips and tricks, and sometimes chat hosts run additional games where you can potentially win free bingo tickets and extra cash prizes. These chat rooms also make online bingo a nicer and more enjoyable experience overall, so be sure to give them a try.

Perhaps the very easiest way to up your chances of winning at bingo, is by buying more tickets. It’s simple; the more tickets you play, the greater chance you have of winning. There are two key issues with this strategy, though, which you should bear in mind. Firstly, bingo tickets have the potential to be very costly, and some bingo sites will allow players to purchase up to a hundred tickets per game. Set yourself a spending budget per game to avoid getting carried away. Secondly, whilst it’s easy to keep track of one bingo ticket, it can be challenging to keep track of multiple, so perhaps try to work your way up gradually.

Bingo is one of the best online games out there. It is sociable, fun, and allows you the chance to win cash prizes. However, it is of course very important not get too obsessed with wanting to win. Bingo is a brilliant game, and it would be a shame to spoil it for yourself by not playing responsibly. Set yourself both time and financial budgets, to ensure you can enjoy the game safely.
