I love the Tesla Model S. It’s a sexy beast that I’d gladly plug into my
neighbor’s garage’s power outlet. But what happens when you juice up your futurecar and then take for a long distance journey?
What happens when your 260+ mile range is down to 0? Does it suddenly stop? Do you get catapulted through the windshield as if you were just hit by a team of oxen head-on?
To illustrate what happens when you drive the Tesla Model S to its maximum range (and beyond), check out the video review from The Verge. They take the fancy new futurecar through its paces but also take a long-distance drive that brings them to the limit of range.
So, would you buy a Tesla if you could afford it? Would you buy a cheaper version with a slightly diminished range capacity? I’m on the fence about which is the best way to go.
Regardless, this is the car of the future. Or at least that’s how it looks from where I’m sitting (in California).
