Getting powerful technology into the classroom is tough. But once you’ve got it, it’s important to leverage it to the fullest extent. What better way to do that than by exploring how to use apps – yes, apps – on your macs in the classroom. Did you even know you could do that? Hopefully. Quick refresher time. What’s the best way to discover new apps that might be useful to your classroom? Did you say ‘the app store’ perhaps? That’s right! It’s a great way to discover what’s new, trending, and featured.

What’s the best way to learn how to actually use the apps you discover? How to identify the best methodology behind using an app in your particular type of classroom? I’d recommend hitting up app review sites that are education-focused like edShelf and Graphite. Plus be sure to browse around the popular education technology blogs (like this one!) for some insight.

If you’re not lucky enough to have Macs in your classroom, fear not! Most of the apps below work on iPhones and iPads. Heck, some even work on Android (gasp!) devices. Not the Apple-made ones though. Don’t expect an Android-based iPages anytime soon.
